United Way of Kershaw County Continues To Strengthen The Local Community

United Way of Kershaw County Extending Annual Fundraising Campaign

CAMDEN SC (February 8, 2024) – United Way of Kershaw County is extending their annual fundraising campaign through February 29, 2024. UWKC has received a $50,000 matching gift, meaning the next $50,000 will be matched dollar for dollar. Donations can be made online, uwkc.net, by mail to United Way of Kershaw County P O Box 737 Camden SC 29021, in person at 110 E Dekalb Street Camden Monday-Friday 8am-4pm, or by calling 803-432-0951.

The annual campaign kicked off July 2023 and has reached 82% of the $775,000 goal. Federal assistance received during the pandemic is gone, and the need remains. When people give, United Way of Kershaw County can multiply grant funds received. Every dollar makes a difference in improving Kershaw County.

“We do so much in our community with the help of the public through volunteers, donations and social support,” said Donny Supplee, President of United Way of Kershaw County. “It is our hope extending our annual campaign through February 29 will put us closer to our goal so we may continue to make great strides in empowering our community to thrive.”  Lori Arledge, VP Resource Development states, “Our campaign is important to the lives of those in need right here in Kershaw County. By donating, you are helping our county rise. The grants we are blessed to secure have a matching component of 30%-50%. We need your help to meet the match and make the most of these generous gifts, maximizing their impact. Donations support twelve Partner Agencies in Kershaw County, and help fund Programs in areas of Health and Hunger, Education, Financial Stability, Homelessness and Transportation. We must work together for a better life for all in Kershaw County. United, each day brings a new start, a new chance, and a new hope.”

United Way of Kershaw County is a volunteer-based organization founded in 1954. UWKC serves residents of Kershaw County in areas of health and hunger, education, financial stability, homelessness and transportation. UWKC has offices in Camden, Elgin, and Mt. Pisgah and many partners and programs throughout the county.
